According to BBC, coach Arsene Wenger tried hard to get the signature of striker Kylian Mbappe in the past.
Coach Arsene Wenger is very good at discovering rough gems. He once brought French strikers like Thierry Henry and Nicolas Anelka to light.
Wenger also recognized Kylian Mbappe’s talent very early and spoke directly with Mbappe’s parents in 2013.
Sharing with BBC, the French Professor said: “You know, at one point I tried to persuade him to come to Arsenal. I went to his house, with his parents there. He is a happy boy. He just wants to play football and has a passion for the ball.”
Arsenal are not the only interested party. But French sports journalist Julien Laurens explains that all the giants in Europe have no chance, because Mbappe always intended to stay in familiar surroundings (stay in France to play football).
Laurens stated: “Sending Kylian outside the borders of France was never in the plan” and that is why he chose to join Monaco.
