Marvel’s Anthony Mackie gets his own Captain America film, starring in “Brave New World” opposite Harrison Ford. Set to release on February 14, 2025, this highly anticipated movie marks a significant step forward for Mackie’s character, Sam Wilson.
In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly at CinemaCon, Mackie teased his playful retaliation against Tom Holland’s quip about his lack of a solo film, promising to make Holland attend the premiere and watch the movie beside him. Directed by Julius Onah, known for “The Cloverfield Paradox,” the film takes a grounded, espionage-driven approach, diverging from traditional superhero tropes. Mackie describes “Brave New World” as “10 times bigger” than his Disney+ series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” emphasizing its unique storyline and characters.
With Harrison Ford making his Marvel debut as President Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, the movie promises to be a thrilling addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
