Anthony Davis says he still gets excited before games when he enters the Lakers arena.

Anthony Davis reflected on his time in the NBA and said the challenges of the league still keep him motivated at the highest level.

Anthony Davis spoke recently about his time in the NBA and his future in the league. While speaking on the ‘Join The Lobby’ podcast, AD opened up about the journey so far, and how he still is in disbelief sometimes of how long he has been in the league.

Despite his lengthy stint in the NBA so far, he still loves it and finds excitement at the idea of continuing to play the game at the highest level (1:23:03 onwards).

“Obviously, I’ve been blessed to play this long, going on year 13. It’s a blessing…I’m about to have 13 years. When this contract is up, I’ll be 17 years in the league… I still love it. I want to play long enough where my sons can enjoy it. My daughter is enjoying it, she’s old enough, I want my sons to be able to enjoy it.”

“As long as I keep enjoying the game, keep loving the game, excited to go to work. I still get excited, I’m still nervous before every game like ‘Damn’. I look forward to play all matchups, I look forward to going on the road and being in other arenas and they’re booing you. That still excites me. Running out into Crypto, and everybody… the bright lights still amaze me. As long as that is still there – my passion for the game, and my body, I’m going to keep going till they tell me I can’t.”

Davis clearly has a deep love for the game that is far from dwindling anytime soon. While there have been criticisms leveled at AD in the past for his level or even quality of play, no one can accuse of him not giving a 100% when he is on the court.
