While he may be out as Superman, Henry Cavill appears to remain interested in DC’s upcoming releases, and his opinion on The Flash has become public.

Former Superman actor Henry Cavill has seen DC’s upcoming movie release, The Flash, and has a strong opinion about the film. Cavill played Superman in the old DCEU but has since left the role due to DC moving into a new direction, both for its universe and Clark Kent, with James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, which focuses on a younger version of the Man of Steel. Cavill might be out as Superman, but the actor remains interested in DC, with Cavill having watched The Flash.

During The Flash‘s press conference, Supergirl actress Sasha Calle revealed to @HablemosdecineX that Cavill has seen The Flash and loved the movie.

Calle also revealed that after she got the Supergirl role, the actress asked Cavill and Arrowverse Supergirl actress Melissa Benoist for advice. Cavill and Gal Gadot reportedly had their cameos cut from The Flash, so it is interesting to see the actor’s perspective on the finished movie.

What Henry Cavill’s Superman Role In The Flash Could Have Been

The Flash‘s story is set to bring forward a different version of the iconic Flashpoint storyline from the comics. In the movie, Calle’s Supergirl will take the role Superman had in that story, with the young Kryptonian being trapped and kept away from the sun from the moment she arrives on Earth. With Calle’s Supergirl always set to take Superman’s story from Flashpoint, Cavill’s Man of Steel would have had another role in the film.

According to rumors, the character was not part of the early scene in The Flash described by Ben Affleck, where Batman is part of a big action sequence that ended with him being saved by Wonder Woman. Gadot’s character seemed to have a bigger role in the story than Cavill’s Superman, with The Flash‘s rumors claiming that the former Superman actor would have a cameo role at the end of the film.

Cavill’s Superman was said to appear before Barry Allen, Michael Keaton’s Batman, and Calle’s Supergirl after The Flash rebooted the DC universe. If that were true, then The Flash might have originally set up Cavill’s Superman and Calle’s Supergirl to co-exist rather than what is currently the case. With a new Clark Kent actor set to be revealed soon for Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, only Calle could potentially remain in the new DC Universe. If The Flash is a success, then Calle might have some real chances of leading the already announced Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film.
