Despite how hard no-đđžđđ animal shelters strive to find permanent homes for the creatures in their care, every now and then a dog is overlooked by potential adopters, despite the shelterâs best efforts.
Dahlia is one of these dogs. The American Staffordshire Terrier Mix has spent her entire life at the Santa Barbara Humane Society. She arrived at the age of six months. The shelterâs longest resident, who is now 7 years old, needs a forever home, so volunteers there are working to find him one.
One of the shelter volunteers remarked, âShe is a wonderfully sweet, clever, loving, loyal big lap dog⌠She is a really lovely, smart, loving, loyal big lap dog⌠Iâm looking for a wonderful single pet home for her. âSheâll make someone very happy!â
Update:
The shelterâs plea did not fall on deaf ears. Daliah got a loving home soon after the Humane Society issued their plea! After seeing her story on the TV, a man from Orange County drove to the shelter to meet her.
The Humane Society couldnât be happier. âWe are over the moon!â they declared in a statement. For those of you who have inquired about Dahliaâs healthâŚSheâs finally found her everlasting home!! Thank you to everyone who shared her story and contacted us!â
Visit the Santa Barbara Humane Societyâs website to find out more about dog adoptions from them.
Please share Daliahâs story and help encourage others to adopt overlooked dogs like her.
