Like a good neighbor, State Farm was there for Aaron Rodgers, but after more than a decade, their endorsement partnership quietly ended after the 2022 NFL season — though the split only came to light Tuesday.
Kurt Badenhausen of Sportico reported the two parties went their separate ways, and Rodgers’ final State Farm commercial aired in January during the NFL playoffs.
Rodgers had starred in ads for the insurance company since 2011, and his Discount Double Check championship belt touchdown celebration had become synonymous with both the quarterback and State Farm.
Rodgers, now the Jets’ starting quarterback, earned $3 million a year from the 12-year State Farm endorsement deal, according to Sportico.
It was one of the most valuable endorsement deals for an NFL player.
“We wish Aaron the best in his future endeavors,” a State Farm spokesperson told Sportico.

During his endorsement run, Rodgers appeared in spots with an eclectic mix of co-stars, including Clay Matthews, Dana Carvey, Randall Cobb, Patrick Mahomes, dogs and “Jake from State Farm.”
The Discount Double Check ads remain among the most popular spots that Rodgers, then the Packers’ quarterback, appeared in.
State Farm stood by Rodgers in 2021, when the star found himself facing criticism over his stance on not being vaccinated against COVID-19.
Though the company said it did not agree with his position, it did not drop him despite the backlash.
“Aaron Rodgers has been a great ambassador for our company for much of the past decade,” the company said at the time. “We don’t support some of the statements that he has made, but we respect his right to have his own personal point of view.”
The company did cut back on the number of ads that ran which featured Rodgers, but he returned in 2022 for a new batch of spots that ran during the NFL season.
Rodgers was traded to the Jets in the offseason and will make his debut with the team Saturday during a preseason game at MetLife Stadium against the Giants.
