Inside the football-themed family hotel owned by Beckham’s Man Utd teammates – with rooftop pitch & matchday experiences

DAVID Beckham is hitting the headlines once again, thanks to his hugely popular Netflix documentary.

And Manchester United fans keen to experience the magic of his era of the Red Devils can immerse themselves at the Hotel Football.

As its name suggests, the hotel is football-themed, which is hardly surprising given who opened it.

The accommodation was co-founded by former Manchester United legends and Beckham’s Class of ’92 teammates; Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs in 2015.

Next door to the club’s famous Old Trafford stadium, it is also one of the only hotels in Europe with a rooftop 5-a-side football pitch, which has a retractable roof.

The famous founders can sometimes be spotted around the hotel and Gary Neville in particular is known to frequently have a kick around on the roof with guests when he pops in, as does Ryan Giggs.

Each room contains Man United photos and memorabilia, including iconic players’ kits, as well as a Hotel Football-branded ball.

In the bedside table drawer, where hotel guests would traditionally find a bible, there is instead a book about Manchester United.

There’s also a 40-inch plasma TV with all Sky Sports channels, bathrooms with rain-effect showers, air conditioning and complimentary retro sweets.

Downstairs in the Cafe Football restaurant there are plenty of TVs for guests to watch games on, while a games room with Playstations all loaded with FIFA means there’s always one way or another to enjoy a match.

For those who want to get closer to the action, they can even combine their stay with a tour of Old Trafford as part of a special deal.

A Beautiful Game package includes an overnight stay, breakfast in Cafe Football, the Manchester United Museum and stadium tour experience, Class of 92 themed toiletries and complimentary retro treats and a 10 per cent discount in the club shop.

There are also home match day experiences available, which features pre and post-match hospitality in the Stadium Suite, as well as a Q&A with a Manchester United legend.

The package includes an arrival glass of fizz, a three course dining experience, drinks throughout the matchday experience, entertainment, a hotel football quiz, matchday programmes and access to the Old Trafford Supporters Club and the club shop discount.

The next matchday experience will be with Gary Neville for the Manchester Derby on Sunday, October, 29.

The hotel is also known to attract plenty of stars from both on and off the pitch on matchdays, thanks to its proximity to the stadium.

Visitors can also enjoy an afternoon tea, with a Hotel Football twist.

The menus include mini fish and chips, sausage rolls, mini yorkshire puddings with beef and gravy, or sandwiches, homemade scones and churros, all accompanied with teas, coffees and beer.

The hotel has announced an exclusive half term kids package for families looking to do something a little different with their school breaks.

It includes three nights for the price of two in one of the hotel’s family Squad Rooms for two adults and two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren under the age of 12.

There will also be tickets to the Manchester United Stadium and Museum Tour, access to the hotel’s Game Zone and breakfast each morning for the whole family.

Furthermore, the package has an afternoon tea experience and dinner in the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Cafe Football, which overlooks Old Trafford.

A dedicated check-in for 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren is also offered, along with 20 per cent discount on additional food and beverages throughout the stay.

The half term kids package is priced from £550 for a three night stay.

Standard rooms for two people start from £85 per night on non-matchdays.

Meanwhile, this UK hotel attracts celebrity guests and makes people feel like they’re abroad.

And these are the best hotels in the UK to visit for 2024, including rooms from £72.50 per night.
