Scott Minto now predicts how many goals Nicolas Jackson will score for Chelsea this season

Former Chelsea player Scott Minto has predicted how many goals he thinks Nicolas Jackson could score in the Premier League this season.

Nicolas Jackson is currently on five goals in 10 top-flight appearances going into Chelsea‘s game against Manchester City later today.

And Scott Minto, speaking to the Daily Mirror, believes the striker could reach double figures this term.

Jackson scored a hat-trick last time out, putting three past Tottenham Hotspur in Chelsea’s 4-1 win on Monday.

Double figures not beyond Nicolas Jackson

For Minto, Jackson scoring 15 goals in the Premier League this season is not impossible.

Discussing the 22-year-old in an interview with the Daily Mirror, he said: “I do like Nicolas Jackson, who is very raw and still learning top-level football, let alone at a huge club like Chelsea.

“There’s a good chance he could get 15 Premier League goals, which is a great return, but I still think Chelsea should go and get Ivan Toney.”

How many Premier League goals will Nicolas Jackson score this season?

Having netted five times already, Jackson really should be aiming for 15 goals this term. And if the Senegal international manages to reach that, he should be able to put this down as a good season.

Jackson is still just 22 and has not been in England for too long, so it would be a great achievement for him.

Of course, he is going to come up against much harder opposition than a nine-man Tottenham side, who he has scored the majority of his goals against.

Before his hat-trick versus Ange Postecoglou’s team, he was finding it tough, coming in for criticism from pundits such as Shaka Hislop.

However, Jackson now has something to really build on after scoring those three goals in north London and has a real chance to prove his doubters wrong when Chelsea welcome City to Stamford Bridge.

Given who the Blues are taking on, it seems very unlikely. But two strikes today, and Jackson should be reaching that 15-goal mark easily. The former Villarreal man will probably have to do it against 11 men, though.
