Marc Cucurella says he’s delighted with two signings Chelsea have made, he told them both to join

Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has now claimed that he is really happy that the club secured deals for Moises Caicedo and Robert Sanchez.

He told the club website that he told them both to join the club after he enjoyed his own first year at Stamford Bridge.

Both Caicedo and Sanchez have established themselves as crucial members of the first team since their summer additions from Brighton.

The goalkeeper has played in every single game since he joined, with there so far being no chance for Djordje Petrovic to break into the side.

While there has not been universal confidence in him around Stamford Bridge all season, the majority have been impressed particularly by his shot stopping ability.

The 21-year-old midfielder meanwhile has begun to form the partnership everyone has been excited by alongside former club-record addition Enzo Fernandez.

Cucurella happy with Caicedo and Sanchez

Cucurella, who himself has been an important player this season, has now shared his delight at them joining the club.

He said: “I am very happy they joined,’ said Marc on Sanchez and Caicedo’s arrivals. ‘I told them it’s an important club, they would feel very good here, that I am happy here, and that we would have a Spanish mafia!

“That we can speak as well with the manager in Spanish makes it easier to explain our mistakes or what we need to do on the pitch.

“We have a really good team, are very close inside and outside the pitch, and I think when these relationships are good then on the pitch we can play together.”

Having all played together for Brighton, they are now continuing where they left off at Stamford Bridge.

Caicedo in particular will be hoping he is fit enough to feature on Saturday against Newcastle, after another gruelling international break in South America.
