The score was tied 7-7 with seven minutes left in the second quarter.

On a first-down-and-10 play, Mahomes threw a pass intended for the Chiefs tight end Blake Bell.

But while the pass was in the Bell’s hands, Patriots rookie linebacker Marte Mapu ripped the ball away and ran for 21 yards.

It was Mapu’s first interception of the third-round pick’s young career.

Shortly after, Mahomes was seen near Kansas City’s bench.

The two-time MVP tossed his helmet while looking at the replay on the jumbotron.

Fortunately for the Chiefs, New England would be held to just a field goal and take a 10-7 lead.

But NFL fans had plenty to say about Mahomes’ frustrated reaction to the turnover.

One commented: “Mahomes been sassy lately.”

Another wrote: “I love angry Mahomes!”

While a third said: “It has not been his year.”

And a fourth added: “The Taylor Swift curse.”

The Chiefs would go on to win 27-17 as Mahomes finished with 27-of-37 passes for 305 yards along with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

New England had just 206 total yards during the contest.
