Who is the half-brother of Patrick Mahomes? Introducing Brown football player Graham Walker, an Ivy League athlete

Patrick Mahomes is one of the league’s best players and will be vying for another Super Bowl win if the Chiefs can make it past the Ravens in the AFC championship game Sunday.

But he’s not the only member of the Mahomes family who plays the sport. Mahomes’ half brother, Graham Walker, plays wide receiver for the Brown Bears.

Here’s a look into everything to know about Mahomes and his half brother.

Who is Patrick Mahomes’ half brother?

Graham Walker is a wide receiver at Brown University, an Ivy League program.

He did not see the field in 2020, his first official year with the Bears, after the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But in 2021, Walker took advantage of his opportunity.

Walker appeared in all 10 games that season, leading all Ivy League rookies in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions. He posted two games with 100 or more receiving yards, including a nine-catch, 132 yard performance against Harvard.

He ranked fifth in the league with 54 receptions and caught 6 touchdown passes on the season.

In 2022, Walker saw action in seven games, reeling in 28 passes for 292 yards with an average of 41.7 yards receiving per game and three touchdowns.

Super Bowl: Chiefs forget that Patrick Mahomes is a celebrity

“They say he’s the one who looks most like me but maybe the other boys will disagree a little bit, but he’s definitely a Mahomes,” Patrick Mahomes Sr. said about Walker in an interview with Fox 4 in Kansas City.

Mahomes Sr. describes Walker as even-keel.

“He’s a little bit more laid back than the others,” Mahomes Sr. said. “Stays away from the spotlight and goes out and grinds and works. But a very impressive young man.”

Walker has aspirations to play in the NFL, which led to him entering the transfer portal after he originally wanted to pursue politics.

“(Graham) finally decided he wants to be a serious football player, so we have him in the transfer portal,” Mahomes Sr. told Fox 4. “Hopefully he’s going to choose a school here soon and we can go on with the next chapter.”

It will be interesting to see where he lands next, but the family seems confident in his future while more seriously pursuing football. Mahomes Sr. said Walker will do whatever it takes to “play at the next level.”
