Mahomes is emphasizing his work at home in Kansas City
atrick and Brittany Mahomes recently enjoyed a vacation in Mexico, but the power couple’s hopes for a quiet and relaxing getaway were dashed by none other than Las Vegas Raiders fans, who booed Patrick heavily as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback attempted to get some dinner at a restaurant in Cabo. On one hand, that could excite NFL fans eager to see the Chiefs – Raiders rivalry reignited next season — but for the Mahomes family, Patrick has delivered a masterclass in how to “keep it moving” in the wake of a stressful experience.
Patrick Mahomes was probably quick to remember the good work he did for his local community earlier this month, before he flew down to Mexico with Brittany. The three-time Super Bowl champion inspired thousands of kids in the Kansas City area and reaffirmed his status as a hero in the region for his exploits off the gridiron as well as on it.
Earlier this month, Mahomes partnered with Lead to Read KC for the second annual “Read for 15 Reading Rally” in Kansas City. Mahomes appeared in person at T-Mobile Center, where more than 3,000 local students listened to the Chiefs quarterback speak and read to them in an afternoon many in attendance probably will not forget.

Mahomes made a long-term commitment not just to the Chiefs, but to the Kansas City area, when he signed a contract extension to 2031. He has strengthened his ties to the region through joining the ownership groups of the Kansas City Royals and of Sporting Kansas City, and he has another ownership stake in the NWSL‘s Kansas City Current, alongside Brittany — a former pro soccer player. Patrick also has a number of endorsement deals, as he is perhaps the NFL’s most marketable player thanks to his on-field success and his easygoing nature away from Arrowhead Stadium.

But Mahomes’ work with the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, founded in 2019, brought him in front of a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥-dominated audience, to whom he said “reading helps you succeed, whatever your dream is.” Mahomes is living proof, as the leader of the NFL’s newest dynasty.
