Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is a highly decorated name in the NBA. Also, he has been vocal about things that seem to bother him. Recently, Green shared his views on the Big Podcast hosted by the NBA great, Shaquille O’Neal.
Interestingly, Green’s teammate Chris Paul has been linked with a possible move to the Los Angeles Lakers for the next NBA season. This is due to the Warriors performing poorly this season, and Green seemed to send his teammates a warning who think it is a better idea to jump ship from the Warriors to any other team to win more rings on the podcast.
I’d rather struggle the same way we succeeded together… I’d rather struggle with the same guys as opposed to…Oh, I can go over here I can do that. But as long as you have me I’ve got no reason to ever wanna leave that place.
-Draymond Green said-
On the sports side of things, this 2023-24 NBA season, Chris Paul and Draymond Green have had dismal performances for the Warriors. According to StatMuse, Paul played 58 games, averaging 9.2 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 6.8 SPG. Green, on the other side, appeared in 55 games and averaged 8.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game.
After the Golden State Warriors recruited Chris Paul during the offseason, there were questions about his compatibility with Draymond Green. Throughout their careers, the two veterans have fought numerous battles against one another. With each of the two being passionate rivals, it was unsurprising that they had little love for each other.
Interestingly, Paul and Green seemed to have settled the rivalry, with Paul showing his appreciation towards Green’s play style in public in a post-match conference.
He’s one of the best I’ve seen in my whole career. I appreciate playing with someone who sees the games like I do.
-Speaking to the media after the Warriors’ victory over Dallas Mavericks in April, Chris Paul said-
However, Paul and Green have not been at their flying best this 2023-24 NBA season, finishing at 10th seed in the Western Conference. In particular, the Warriors’ star roster has not been at it this season and will have to make important changes to their squad to succeed again in the NBA.
