Patrick Mahomes receives the greatest advise from Tom Brady on how to win another Super Bowl

After seven seasons Mahomes has the same number of Super Bowls won as Tom Brady (3).

The NFL regular season is just over two weeks away, set to begin with a clash between the two-time defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Baltimore Ravens on September 5th at Arrowhead Stadium. The greatness and success of Patrick Mahomes, who will start his seventh season as the Chiefs’ quarterback and turn 29 years old, have led many to draw comparisons between him and Tom Brady, the greatest of all time with seven Super Bowl wins.

Brady Speaks on Mahomes’ Success

There are undeniable similarities between the two quarterbacks. Like Mahomes, Brady spent his first season on the bench, and both quarterbacks won three Super Bowls in their first six seasons as starters, including two consecutively. Given these and other parallels, it’s impossible not to ask Brady for his thoughts on Mahomes. On the “Stephen A. Smith Show,” Smith asked Brady about Mahomes overall achievements, and Brady responded with high praise, offering advice for the young quarterback to continue his successful career. “In my opinion, the best quarterback in the NFL. When I look at him, I see why he’s great.” That’s just a small part of what he said about who is his biggest threat to beat him in Vince Lombardi’s trophies.

Brady also offered advice on managing life off the field, such as the growth of Mahomes’ two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren, soon to be three. If there’s anyone you’d want to receive advice from in the NFL, it’s undoubtedly Tom Brady. Mahomes will likely take Brady’s words to heart and use them as motivation to help the Chiefs become the first franchise to achieve a three-peat in the NFL, a position Brady himself was in 20 years ago in 2004.

Brady vs. Mahomes

Mahomes and Brady faced off six times during their overlapping careers, with each winning three games. In their four regular-season matchups, Mahomes came out on top in three, but in the playoffs, including a Super Bowl, Brady prevailed. When comparing their first seven seasons, Mahomes outpaces Brady in almost every statistical category, except for the most important one-Super Bowl victories, where they are tied.

Brady, along with Joe Burrow, are the only quarterbacks to have defeated Mahomes in the playoffs, where Mahomes holds a 15-3 record. In the playoffs even when trailing by double digits, Mahomes can never be counted out. In the same interview, Stephen A. Smith asked Brady who he believes are the most dangerous rivals for the Chiefs this year. Brady pointed to the Bengals and Bills in the AFC, and in the NFC, he mentioned the San Francisco 49ers,Green Bay Packers, and Los Angeles Rams as potential surprises.
