Elon Musk attacks Taylor Swift over decision to support Ms. Harris

Elon Musk, a Trump supporter, mocked singer Taylor Swift on social media, after the star announced her support for Ms. Harris.

After the debate between presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris on September 10, 34-year-old pop star Taylor Swift posted a statement of support for Ms. Harris on her Instagram account with 283 million followers, along with a photo of the singer holding a cat and signed “Childless Cat Lady”.

The photo and signature are meant to mock 2021 Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance’s controversial statement that “𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥less cat ladies” are making the country miserable. “Cat ladies” is an American slang term used to mock older, 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥less women who prefer to live with cats and are moody.

Billionaire Elon Musk, a Trump supporter, posted a sarcastic post on September 11. “Okay Taylor, you win, I will give you a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 and protect your cat with my life,” Musk wrote on his X account with 197 million followers.

In the comments section, many people attacked Musk, saying he disrespected women, behaved strangely and was not serious.

Meanwhile, one account responded to Musk by posting a chart showing that more unmarried Democratic women than Republican women were married. The billionaire responded by posting a “100” emoji, expressing his appreciation.

Elon Musk has publicly expressed his support for Mr. Trump since the former president was assassinated in Pennsylvania in July, and has donated money to Mr. Trump’s campaign. Musk was previously said to support Mr. Biden in the 2020 election.

In a speech to business executives in New York on September 5, Trump announced that he would assign Musk to oversee “the entire financial and performance audit process of the federal government” if elected. The American billionaire later posted that he “looks forward to serving the country.”
