Her ABC spy drama Quantico was guillotined after three seasons.
And Priyanka Chopra bid a fond farewell to her character on her Instagram this Friday, the evening the series finale aired on television.
The 36-year-old Bollywood star, whose role on the show earned her a People’s Choice Award, wrote: ‘As the season ends, I am saying goodbye to Alex Parrish. As you’ll see, her story will come full circle…and that is the best feeling as an actor.’
Priyanka, who has been endlessly trumpeted as the first South Asian to occupy the top role in a major network drama’s cast, continued: ‘Bringing Alex to life has challenged me physically and emotionally, but even more significant it has (I hope) cracked the door open for female talent and women of color to play leading ladies.’
The Bihar-𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 daughter of military doctors gushed: ‘Thank you for opening your homes and hearts to me every week! Thank you to the cast and crew of #Quantico for being such an amazing team to work with, for all the memories that I will cherish…memories of laughter, of learning new things, of making friends for life.’
She graciously closed out her caption: ‘It was a pleasure working with each and every one of you, and I look forward to crossing paths again!’
The message was accompanied by a throwback snap of an ad for Quantico splashed across the side of a building in Los Angeles.
Priyanka achieved immense stardom in India, and in 2016 was garlanded with a Padma Shri, the fourth highest of the civilian honors granted by her government.
She has not, however, appeared in an Indian film since 2016’s Jai Gangaajal, which wrapped in the autumn of 2015, the Indian Express reported.
Quantico lasted from September 2015 until this year, during which period Priyanka also featured in a flop Baywatch film starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
She did score an invite to her pal Meghan Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry in Windsor this May, the month news broke that Quantico had been scuttled.

What might have been: Priyanka was slated to make her grand return to Hindi cinema opposite Salman Khan (left) in Bharat, but withdrew from the film amid the engagement chatter
‘We just went out for dinner where Nick was present. But it was a large group,’ said Madhu in an interview with the broadsheet Daily News And Analysis.
‘There were 10-odd people, so I didn’t get the time to know him that well. I’ve met him for the first time, so it’s too early to form an opinion,’ she explained.
Priyanka and Nick also swung by a swank pre-engagement party for Akash Ambani, son of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani, the wealthiest person in India.
