BLACKPINK’s Jennie’s agency has addressed the misunderstanding about the artist’s fandom name.
On September 19, Jennie released a short voice message in which she refers to her fans as “Rubies” through her agency’s official website. In the voice message, Jennie says, “Hi, Rubies! It’s Jennie. Stay tuned, and see you soon. Love you. Bye!”
This led to speculation that Jennie’s official fandom name might be “Rubies.” Since singer Kwon Eun Bi’s official fandom name is also “RUBI,” questions arose about the potential overlap of fandom names.
Regarding this, Jennie’s agency OA Entertainment stated, “Jennie was just using the term ‘Rubies’ to address her fans in a news update, and this was not an official announcement of her fandom name,” emphasizing that it is not the official fandom name.
Previously, Jennie had registered a trademark for “Jennie Ruby Jane,” which is her full name in English.
Jennie is currently gearing up to make a comeback with a new solo single in October after signing a partnership with the major American record label Columbia Records.
