Tiger Woods-designed course and 600 new homes community announced by golf legend in business venture

TIGER Woods is designing a brand new golf course in Aledo, Texas as part of a joint business venture that will also build 600 new homes.

The golfing legend will put his name to an 18-hole course that will act as the centerpiece of a 914-acre community at Bluejack Ranch in Aledo, near Fort Worth.

The course is being built in Aledo, Texas

Woods, 48, is collaborating on the project with former PGA Tour Pro and 2006 Ryder Cup star J.J Henry, as well as hometown developers Andy and Kristen Mitchell.

Woods has already designed and opened one course in Texas, Bluejack National, which opened in Montgomery back in 2016.

But the 15-time major champion is now starting work on his second course, scheduled to open in 2026.

Woods penned an open letter the Aledo community online on Thursday, announcing his intentions for the course.

He wrote: “Bluejack National’s success has paved the way for this next chapter at Bluejack Ranch.

“Our shared vision of creating a space where families can enjoy the game and have fun inspires us all once again at The Ranch.

“It’s extremely motivating for me to contribute to the golfing legacy of Fort Worth, and I’m excited to see what we’ll build together.”

Little is known about the design of the course yet, but Woods has promised to “share more after our next design meeting in Aledo”.

Plans show the mammoth scale of the ranch

Woods will be designing the 18-hole course alongside TGR Design partner Beau Welling.

The property is also expected to include a lighted 10-hole par three golf course, a spa and wellness area and practice facilities.

While there’s also slated to be 600 new residences added to the area as part of the development with access to pools and a racquet club.

Construction is already underway with the Ranch Club expected to be completed in early 2025, before the golf course is opened in early 2026.

Woods’ Bluejack National is ranked as one of the best golf courses in the United States.

Golf Digest previously named it as the 114th best course in the country, while it was named in the top 100 by Top100GolfCourse.com.

Locals will be hoping that Woods’ new venture will live up to the standards set by his first course.
