Tiger Woods reunites with ex-wife Elin Nordegren as PGA Tour return grows closer

Tiger Woods reunited with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren this week, with the pair turning out at Miami Shores Country Club to watch their son Charlie in High School action.

Woods separated from wife Elin, and the mother of his two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren Sam and Charlie, back in 2010 having been married for almost six years. Despite their separation, Woods and Nordegren continue to co-parent, and according to The Palm Beach Post, the pair were together for their youngest.

Charlie was in action for The Benjamin School in Monday’s Class 1A Region 4 tournament and was looking to defend the state title they won back in 2023.

Having prevailed at district level last month, Woods Jr and his schoolmates competed in testing conditions at Miami Shores, eventually finishing the event four shots behind Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest. Per the report, Woods Sr followed his son around the course on a cart.

Communication between the pair was brief, with Tiger seemingly keen to let his son focus on his game. The son of the 15-time major champion put in a solid showing individually, ending the tournament tied for sixth, after being one of six players to shoot level-par.

Discussing Woods Jr’s form with The Palm Beach Post at regionals, Benjamin coach Toby Harbeck said: “He’s tough on himself. If he could just relax and play, store some of that energy, it’s good. He’s just young. He’s got a lot of Dad in him.”

Woods Sr has not featured competitively since The Open Championship at Royal Troon in July, where the 48-year-old missed the cut in brutal conditions on the Scottish coast. It was just Woods’ fifth start of the season, as he continues to play a part-time schedule amid a number of fitness issues.

Woods played in all four majors this campaign but failed to find the form that has seen him win 15 times on the big stage, making just one cut at the Masters in April. Elsewhere, the 82-time PGA Tour winner failed to make the weekend at the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and The Open.

He has made just one other start outside of the four majors, coming alongside his hosting duties at the Genesis Invitational in February. This also ended prematurely for Woods though, as the tournament host was forced to withdraw partway through his second round due to illness.

Despite his reduced schedule, Woods will return to the PGA Tour on one more occasion before the end, again balancing a hosting role whilst playing the Hero World Challenge. The Jupiter resident also confirmed that he would once again tee it up in the parent-𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 event at the PNC Championship.

I’m not going to play until [The Hero],” Woods said at Troon in the summer. “I’m going to just keep getting physically better and keep working on it. Hopefully just come back for our, our fifth major, the Father-Son [PNC Championship], so looking forward to it.”
