Anne Hathaway stuns in custom white Gap shirt dress by brand’s creative director Zac Posen as she leads the stars at Bulgari Hotel in Rome

Anne Hathaway made jaws drop in a barely-there custom ensemble at the Bulgari Hotel in Rome on Monday.

The 41-year-old Oscar winner — who won rave reviews for her age-gap comedy The Idea of You — commanded attention in a white, maxi shirt dress from Gap, designed by the brand’s newly appointed creative director Zac Posen.

The chic look was left mostly unbuttoned to create a thigh-high slit.

The collar draped casually to expose a white corset bodice, adding a seductive yet casual vibe to the ensemble.

She adorned herself with Bulgari jewels, including a breathtaking diamond necklace, complemented by a diamond Serpenti bracelet and sparkling earrings.

The 41-year-old Oscar winner commanded attention in a custom Gap sleeveless white maxi shirtdress by Zac Posen, which was left mostly unbuttoned to create a thigh-high slit.

Anne looked every inch the glamorous movie icon as she led a cavalcade of stars, including actresses Liu Yifei and Shu Qi.

Her one-of-a-kind frock was created with a flirty off-the-shoulder neckline.

According to a Gap press release, per People, the gown is made from 100% cotton and borrows from the traditional button-down shirt.

The look was described as ‘a blank canvas to express one’s style and creativity.’

Hathaway’s stylist Erin Walsh put the look together, incorporating a pair of custom white shorts from Gap that were layered under the dress.

‘It’s a modern look, inspired by the iconic Audrey Hepburn film, Roman Holiday,’ explained the press release.

Posen noted that he ‘[added] a feminine twist with darting at the waist and a coordinating corset.’

Anne’s outfit is a one-of-one, but Gap will offer an iteration on gap.com.

The glitzy outing comes after the Princess Diaries alum opened up about her decision to stop drinking in a candid interview with Vanity Fair.

The star — who also disclosed she suffered a miscarriage in 2015 during the interview — revealed that abstaining from alcohol has been part of her personal health transformation over the last five years.

‘I knew deep down it wasn’t for me,’ she admitted.

‘And it just felt so extreme to have to say, “But none?’ But none,’ she continued. ‘If you’re allergic to something or have an anaphylactic reaction to something, you don’t argue with it. So I stopped arguing with it.’

Hathaway insisted that she wasn’t coming from a place of judgment towards anyone else.

‘It’s a path everybody has to walk for themselves,’ she explained. ‘My personal experience with it is that everything is better. For me, it was wallowing fuel. And I don’t like to wallow.’

She initially addressed this decision in January 2019, revealing her choice to stop imbibing was in order to be more present for her 3-year-old son.

‘I didn’t put (a drink) down because my drinking was a problem; I put it down because the way I drink leads me to have hangovers and those were the problem,’ she told Boston Common Magazine.

‘My last hangover lasted for five days. When I’m at a stage in my life where there is enough space for me to have a hangover, I’ll start drinking again, but that won’t be until my kid is out of the house.’

Nevertheless, the actress said she harbored no resentment towards parents who occasionally indulge in a few drinks. ‘

‘I just want to make this clear: Most people don’t have to do such an extreme thing. I don’t think drinking is bad,’ she explained.

“‘It’s just the way I do it — which I personally think is really fun and awesome — is just not the kind of fun and awesome that goes with having a 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 for me. But this isn’t a moralistic stance.’

The clarification came after she revealed she had stopped drinking during a January 2019 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

She playfully shared amusing hangover anecdotes before disclosing, once again,  her decision to abstain from alcohol until her young son had grown up and moved out of the house.

‘I don’t totally love the way I (drink) and (my son is) getting to an age where he really does need me all the time in the mornings,’ Anne told the host.

‘I did one school run one day where I dropped him off at school, I wasn’t driving, but I was hungover and that was enough for me. I didn’t love that one.’

Meanwhile, in her Vanity Fair interview, Hathaway revealed that she experienced a miscarriage in 2015, before eventually welcoming her first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 with husband Adam Shulman in March 2016.

The couple now has two sons: Jonathan, seven, and Jack, three.

During the time of the miscarriage, Hathaway was immersed in work, performing in a six-week, one-woman off-Broadway show titled Grounded.

‘The first time it didn’t work out for me. I was doing a play and I had to give 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 onstage every night,’ she shared.

Although it is not clear when the miscarriage happened, the play – written by George Brant – ran for six weeks in April of 2015.

‘It was too much to keep it in when I was onstage pretending everything was fine. I had to keep it real otherwise…. So when it did go well for me, having been on the other side of it – where you have to have the grace to be happy for someone – I wanted to let my sisters know, “You don’t have to always be graceful. I see you and I’ve been you.”‘ she added.

The star of Rachel Getting Married also made the decision to remove other unhealthy habits from her life as much as possible, such as minimizing her use of social media. ‘

‘I make a lot of my lifestyle choices in service of supporting mental health,’ she said.

‘I stopped participating in things that I know to be draining or can cause spirals. I actually don’t have a relationship with myself online.’
