Christopher Tucker, popularly known as Chris Tucker, is an American actor, stand-up comedian and humanist.
Tucker would perform in front of his friends, family members and he even took part in talent competitions while in school. His classmates gave him the Most Humorous Prize for his performances. Being inspired by Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor and Robin Harris in movies and television, he decided to take up comedy as his career. Tucker moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19 to establish himself as a comedian and stayed in his friend’s living room floor. After performing locally he got the opportunity to showcase his talent as a stand-up comedian in Def Comedy Jam HBO television series. Tucker was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Mary Louise (Bryant) and Norris Tucker, who owned a janitorial service. After graduating from high school, Tucker made a change to move to Hollywood from Georgia to pursue a career in show business. He found himself a frequent guest on the Def Comedy Jam (1992). Tucker was noted for doing exceptionally “clean”, non-vulgar stand-up comedy routines. Tucker states his inspirations for comedy are Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor.
Tucker made his film debut in House Party 3 (1994), along side stars such as Bernie Mac, Marques Houston, and Khandi Alexander. In 1995 Tucker appeared in one of his most notable and hilarious films, Friday (1995), alongside Ice Cube. Tucker’s character, Smokey, was a drug addict who was an energetic and outlandish person. Films such as Friday (1995) showed Tucker’s television-comedy styling was very different from his stand-up. In 1995, Tucker also appeared in in another film, Dead Presidents (1995).
In 1997 was the busiest year of Tucker’s career. He starred in three hit movies all in the same year: The Fifth Element (1997), Money Talks (1997), and Jackie Brown (1997).
In 1998, Tucker got a role to star along-side Jackie Chan. The movie was Rush Hour (1998) and it grossed more than $200 million worldwide. This resulted in two additional sequels, Rush Hour 2 (2001) and Rush Hour 3 (2007). In 2006, Tucker got a deal on his Rush Hour 3 (2007) contract that paid $25 million, making him the highest-paid actor in Hollywood at that time.
In 2001, Tucker also was in a music video with friend, pop legend Michael Jackson, in the music video, “You Rock My World.”

Chris Tucker was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 on August 31, 1971, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Norris Tucker Sr. and Mary Louis (ne’e Bryant). He was raised in Decatur, Georgia, along with his five siblings. Tucker is the youngest son of his parents and he has a native American ancestry.
Chris’ father Norris was a business owner who ran a janitorial service. Tucker was very close to his father who was more his best friend. Tucker’s father passed away on 14th January, 2016 in his home in Lithonia, Georgia.
Chris decided to become a comedian at a very young age. He even snuck into a popular comedy club in Atlanta and received a standing ovation for his stand-up comedy becoming a local celebrity instantly. Tucker studied at Columbia High school. To earn money while in high school he started to work at a local Burger King, mopping bathroom floors. After his graduation, he shifted to Los Angeles, California, to pursue his career in show business.

Tucker has had affairs with actresses like Nia Long, Vanessa Mendoza, India Arie and producer Gelila Asres. He was married to Azya Pryor and later the couple got divorced. Tucker has a teenage son, Destin Tucker, from this relationship who lives with his mother in Los Angeles. There were rumors of Tucker having an affair with news anchor, Cynne Simpson, and that they had secretly got married but the reports turned out false. Chris is apparently single off late.
