Kim Kardashian isn’t skimming on this breakthrough with her daughter North West.
Calling it the “craziest thing,” the reality star said the 11-year-old has become more affectionate with her in the years after she and ex Kanye West—with whom she shares North, as well as kids Saint West, 9, Chicago West, 7, and Psalm West, 5—finalized their divorce in 2022.
“North is obsessed with me now and calls me with her friends,” Kim told sister Kourtney Kardashian on the Feb. 27 episode of The Kardashians. “Like, ‘Mom, I love you. You’re the best mom, I love you so much.'”
The SKIMS founder went on to explain how North previously spent a year of being “mad at me,” prompting Kourtney to note that the mother-daughter rough patch coincided around the same time she and Kanye broke up.
“I think it was all the divorce,” Kim said of North’s behavior. “It’s insane, the turnaround.”
Indeed, North did not see eye-to-eye with her mom in the wake of Kim and Kanye’s 2021 split. In the past, Kim said her oldest preferred living with Kanye, who is now married to model Bianca Censori.
“She’ll be like, ‘Dad is the best,'” Kim said in a 2023 episode of The Kardashians. “‘He has it all figured out. He doesn’t have a nanny, he doesn’t have a chef, he doesn’t have security. He lives in an apartment.'”
