Tiger Woods jumps for joy as he watches daughter Sam, 17, win Florida state soccer title

Almost equal to his elation after winning the 2019 Masters, Tiger woods jumped for joy and handed out high fives to several people around him as he watched his daughter Sam win a state soccer title.

Sam, 17, who is a captain and defender for The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, won FHSAA Class 2A girls soccer title with the Buccaneers on Saturday night.

After the win, Woods’ soccer-dad elation could be seen by all and he was captured leaning from the stands to give Sam a big long hug after her Sunshine State triumph, per the Palm Beach Post.

Woods, who has not played on the PGA Tour since The Open Championship last year, and has no current tournaments scheduled, turns 50 in October, as his golf schedule has not doubt slowed over the last few years.

He has two kids, Sam and son Charlie Woods, 16, who won a state golf title with the Buccaneers himself, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren.

Benjamin’s head coach gave Sam Woods credit for being a huge part of the team’s state-title run.

‘The defense really led the team all year,’ Benjamin head coach Hillary Carney said, per the Post. ‘It was a matter of keeping the door shut and not letting them score and knowing we would get one, maybe two.’

‘So it was really the stalwart defense leading the way with Emily [Simon] being in goal and Sam being that senior in the back just settling everything.’

The Benjamin School defeated the Episcopal School of Jacksonville in the state final 1-0 in DeLand on the campus of Stetson University.

The run to a state title was an unlikely one a few weeks ago. The Buccaneers only won four regular-season games, but rattled off their last seven wins in a row, all in the playoffs.

Included in The Benjamin School’s postseason foes were region top seed King’s Academy and the Class 2A four-time reigning state champion Lakeland Christian.

Sam Woods will be attending Stanford in the fall, just like her father did, although she will not be playing for the Cardinal women’s soccer team.
