Rory McIlroy has said that his wife would rather spend more time in the UK than in the Floridian heat.

The 35-year-old PGA Tour pro reportedly first bought his current home in Jupiter, Florida, from fellow golfer Ernie Els in 2012, and it is now thought to be worth more than double that amount. However, his 37-year-old wife, Erica Stoll, has is said to have made clear she would rather spend more time on UK soil than in the Sunshine State.

During season three of Netflix’s Full Swing, which premiered on Tuesday, McIlroy is seen speaking with Martin Kaymer following the 2024 US Open which he narrowly missed out on winning to Bryson DeChambeau by a single stroke. During their conversation, McIlroy explained that Stoll wasn’t a fan of the temperature in Florida after living there as part of his training.

He explained on the show: “If it was up to her, she wouldn’t move to England straightaway, but she definitely wants to spend more time there.” But what does McIlroy’s lavish $22m mansion seated in the heart of the Bear’s Club golf community look like? Here, The Irish Star breaks it down…

Occupying 2.4 acres, McIlroy’s Jupiter home boasts nine bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, among a wealth of other stunning luxury features – including an infinity pool, a games room, a home theatre and a recording studio. Elsewhere, McIlroy’s home also boasts a tennis court for when he wants a change of sport to keep fit, and a top-of-the-range home gym.

Around an hour and a half out of Miami, the home has a six-car garage, and also lies near an adjacent golf course where he can continue to sharpen his s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s on the greens and fairways outside of competition. Built in 2002, McIlroy bought the home from former world No. 1 Els in 2012, although the house is said to have undergone significant renovation work since.

A wealth of palm trees also surround the property, adding to the Floridian feel. Prior to his current abode, McIlroy was living in the nearby Palm Beach Gardens community – keeping the home until 2018, when he reportedly sold it for $12.9m.

Elsewhere, McIlroy is also said to own a massive mansion in La Quinta, California, apartments in New York and the UAE, as well as a 19th century mansion in Northern Ireland’s County Down, close to his hometown of Holywood.

It comes as McIlroy and Stoll last year made a major U-turn on plans to split up. The two filed for divorce in May 2024 on the eve of the PGA Championship, however, the following month decided to backtrack on plans and instead move ahead with their relationship.

The two have been married since April 2017, tying the knot five years after initially meeting one another in 2012. Speaking after the decision to call off the divorce, McIlroy said: “There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate.

“Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”

Currently seated as world No. 3 in the Official World Golf Rankings, McIlroy has enjoyed a tremendous start to his 2025 season. The four-time major winner finished T4 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January alongside Niklas Moller, shooting 12-under-par at the Majlis, before securing his first win of the year at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this month.

McIlroy led the pack with a score of 21-under-par during the competition to take the tournament’s top spot, two strokes ahead of Shane Lowry after shooting six-under in the final round. His most-recent outing came in the form of a T17 finish at the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines South, the competition running away from him as he mustered a total score of three-under-par alongside the likes of Colin Morikawa, Jake Knapp, and Nicholas Dunlap.
