There’s been a lot to celebrate in the Ohtani household of late.
With the Dodgers in first place in the National League and Shohei in the top-5 for home runs this season — things have been going great on the field. And after welcoming his first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 with his wife, Mamiko, last month — they’re just as good off of it.
Now another member of the Ohtani family is getting their turn to celebrate. And that would be the three-time MVP’s beloved dog, Decoy, who rang in his second year on Earth with balloons, flowers, portraits and a “Most Valuable Dog” plaque.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the pup on Instagram.
“Decoy, Happy Birthday 🎉🎈Most valuable Doggie 🐶 MVD 🥰,” a user exclaimed.
“happy 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day bro 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭,” another sobbed.
“happy decoy day !! 🐶,” a fan posted.
“Happy Birthday Decoy! 🐶🎂,” Topps replied.
“Aawww happy 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day Decoy 🐶❤️🥳,” another person commented.
“HappyBirthday ㊗️🎂😍 What a handsome boy 🐶❤️.”

Decoy has become the unofficial mascot of Dodgers Nation since Ohtani’s arrival from the crosstown Angels and it only took Shohei one season to help deliver the organization a World Series championship.
Decoy’s first pitch last summer will go down as one of the cutest in recent memory and we certainly wish him a very happy second 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡day!
Hopefully LA’s $700 million man got him some extra goodies that didn’t make it into the viral IG post.
