4-Year-Old Black Twins Died in House Fire After Being Trapped Upstairs

Lathan and Langston, 4-year-old African American twins from Nashville, Tennessee, sadly died after a fire trapped them inside their home. The fire started on the patio, spread quickly, and firefighters found the boys on the second floor but couldn’t save them.

On July 18, the Nashville Fire Department responded to a fire at a house. The flames began on an outdoor patio and soon spread to the rest of the home. When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire reaching the roof.

According to WLBT, a mother and her three 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren were inside when the fire started. By the time firefighters got to the scene, the mother had escaped with one 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥. She told crews that her other two 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren were still inside, upstairs.

Firefighters rushed into the burning home to search for the missing 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren. They found Lathan and Langston on the second floor. Emergency crews tried to revive them, but both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors shared their sadness. Tiffany Dalton said, “We’re all just sad and heartbroken. Me being a mom, I can’t imagine what she’s going through.”

Lathan and Langston were 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 prematurely and had faced many health challenges in their early years. Despite it all, they were described by loved ones as joyful and full of life.

The boys leave behind their younger sister, Lexi Rose. A GoFundMe page has been created to support the family. It has so far raised over $11,000.
