Manchester United sent exciting Randal Kolo Muani verdict amid transfer interest

Man Utd are keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt ace Randal Kolo Muani as they continue their search for a striker.

Former France international Bixente Lizarazu believes Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani has what it takes to deliver the goods at Manchester United – but has warned he may be better off staying in Germany for another season first.

The 24-year-old, who plundered 23 goals for Frankfurt this season, has made his way onto United’s radar as they attempt to beef up their attacking options this summer. Manager Erik ten Hag has prioritised the addition of a striker and Kolo Muani is one of a handful of options the club is currently considering.

Kolo Muani joined Frankfurt from French outfit FC Nantes on a free transfer last summer and enjoyed an outstanding debut campaign in Germany, scoring 23 goals and grabbing 17 assists in all competitions. He scored 15 times in the Bundesliga, meaning he ended the season as the division’s third-highest goalscorer.

His exploits in his debut season in Germany has resulted in several big-name clubs being linked with his signature, including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as United, of course. And for fellow Frenchman Lizarazu, who was part of the France squad that won the World Cup in 1998, Kolo Muani has the credentials to deliver the goods in England.

“Randal is one of the big discoveries of the season,” Lizarazu told wettbasis.com. “A year ago he left Nantes and silently joined Eintracht Frankfurt.

“In the Bundesliga he prevailed practically overnight and immediately demonstrated his qualities. His marksmanship and his movements between the lines make him extremely dangerous. He has made a great development.

“With his athleticism, his qualities in the air and his dribbling, he would certainly fit well in the Premier League, but also in the Bundesliga.”

Kolo Muani, who is currently away on international duty with France, has scored 46 goals across the last three seasons for Nantes and Frankfurt combined, earning him the chance of bagging a move to one of Europe’s big-name clubs. However, Lizarazu believes it would do no harm to the forward’s development to stay at Frankfurt for one more year.

Lizarazu added: “He definitely has the level to play for Manchester United and Bayern Munich. But he can also take his time and stay with Frankfurt Eintracht for another season to continue to mature there.

“Randal is in good hands there, he plays in a top league and also in the Conference League. Talented strikers find that they can develop at clubs like Frankfurt and are given the time they need to do so.

“He can then take the big leap in the summer of 2024 with even more experience.”
