In the modern era of baseball, the name of Mike Trout has reached far new heights. The Los Angeles Angels star is considered by many as one of the all-time greats and a future Hall of Famer. Mike Trout was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 1991 to Jeff and Debbie Trout in Millville, New Jersey. He grew up with two older siblings, Teal and Jeff. His father, Jeff, played baseball for the University of Delaware and was a fifth-round pick by the Minnesota Twins.
This could explain why Mike followed in his dad’s footsteps. Trout started to show promising signs at an early age. While attending Millville Senior High School, Trout played both basketball and baseball.
He would often wear the number 2 jersey on his back to honor his 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥hood hero, Derek Jeter. Trout originally started as a pitcher and shortstop but soon moved to the outfield. He was signed as the 25th overall draft pick in the 2009 MLB draft, and he has not looked back since then.
