Marcus Rashford had a successful 2022–2023 awards night, winning both our Players’ Player of the Year award and the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for Manchester United.
Marcus has been in excellent form this season, scoring 30 goals, and winning the historic Sir Matt Busby Award in the public poll. He is the first Academy graduate to do so since 1998.
He received the most votes from his teammates and was chosen as the United Players’ Player of the Year.
Rashford claimed he was ‘honored’ to have received the coveted award from those he shares a changing room with upon accepting the teammate-voted honor.
He said, “It’s obviously a proud moment.” Despite the fact that there is always space for development, I believe I should have scored a few more points.
“I’ve been trying to accomplish that for the upcoming season.
“I’m happy with how it turned out, but I’m eager to learn and, hopefully, improve in that next season.”
Marcus returned to the stage shortly after winning his Players’ Player award to accept the Sir Matt Busby Award, a distinguished honor previously held by Bruno Fernandes, Wayne Rooney, and Ruud van Nistelrooy, to mention a few.
Rashford once more expressed his happiness and talked about how he had a point to make when he returned at the start of the season.
He declared, “I feel a great sense of pride.” “I really wish more academy players could go on to win this award and experience what I’m experiencing on stage right now.
“The major reason I returned to the season in the shape I was in was probably because that was the first summer I had off.
“I was simply eager to begin working with the new manager and crew. I just had a good vibe in my head, and judging by this season, I wasn’t mistaken. However, I hope we can keep pushing and making progress.
“I’m overjoyed. Very happy. I simply want to express my gratitude to [my] team members and staff because without their daily push in training, you wouldn’t get to witness the greatest version of me.
I’m grateful to all of you and want to thank you.
