Keanu Reeves with Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt in the same film? It would be a dream come true for fans of these stars and general moviegoers alike. In fact, it almost happened in a recently released movie, but this reunion had to be scrapped because the director couldn’t get Reeves.
Right now, The Matrix star is seemingly busy with the John Wick franchise. The latest film in the franchise grossed $428 million worldwide and was recently greenlit for another sequel. However, even though the Bullet Train director, David Leitch, had worked with Reeves on the John Wick franchise, he still couldn’t get Reeves to star in his film.
Bullet Train Director Wanted Keanu Reeves To Star With Brad Pitt
Keanu Reeves
Brad Pitt starrer and David Leitch-directed Bullet Train grossed $238 million on a $85 million budget. The film was loved for its stylized action and engrossing plot. But if there’s one thing that could have made it better, it would have been a Keanu Reeves cameo, and it almost happened too. Leitch revealed that he wanted the John Wick star to play Pitt’s character, Ladybug’s therapist, Barry.
Brad Pitt and David Leitch
In the film, Ladybug often talks to Barry, but audiences never see the therapist. If Reeves had agreed to star in the film, viewers would probably have seen him. But the director isn’t losing hope. He thinks Reeves can appear in Bullet Train 2. He said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, “My dream cast was Keanu. Wouldn’t it have been great? Hey, Bullet Train 2!” This wouldn’t be Leitch’s first collaboration with the Speed star.
The Bullet Train director had an uncredited role in John Wick 1. But that’s not all. The stuntman-turned-director actually worked with Reeves on The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. But Leitch wasn’t the only one the Constantine star would have reunited with on the film if he had accepted the offer.
Keanu Reeves Could Have Reunited With Sandra Bullock In Brad Pitt’s Film
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock have worked together in two films- Speed and The Lake House. If the 47 Ronin star had accepted David Leitch’s offer, fans could have seen him reunite with Bullock, who he admittedly had a crush on. However, that didn’t happen in Bullet Train. But the question is, will they finally reunite in the sequel?
Brad Pitt in Bullet Train
The Brad Pitt-led film did decent business at the global box office, but till now a sequel to Bullet Train hasn’t been announced yet. However, there are rumors that work on the second film has already begun. If that’s true, an official confirmation should come soon. However, it’s better to take such speculation with a pinch of salt since nothing has been officially announced yet. As for Bullock, Reeves, and Pitt, maybe audiences will see them work together in another film.
Bullet Train is available on Netflix.
