Mauricio Pochettino Hands 21-Year-Old First Start Of Season After Last Week’s Embarrassing Defeat: Chelsea Predicted XI Vs Bournemouth

Mauricio Pochettino will likely be looking to tweak the Chelsea side that were embarrassingly beaten last time out by Nottingham Forest.

Up to now, there have been very few changes made to the squads, with them only really being made if injuries have forced it upon the manager.

However, fresh off an international break it may be the best time to try something new for the away trip to Bournemouth.

Here’s The Chelsea Chronicle’s predicted XI for Sunday’s game.

Robert Sanchez has played every minute so far this season, and that will continue with another start here.

On the right of a back four, Malo Gusto will continue despite Reece James approaching a return from injury.

Alongside him will be Thiago Silva, despite the aim to be for Pochettino to shift his system to a more recognised back four.

He will be partnered by Levi Colwill, who will finally get a chance to feature in his more recognised central role.

Ben Chilwell will therefore start as a recognised left-back, putting an end to the experiment of playing him on the left wing.

Fresh off an assist on international duty, Moises Caicedo will firmly be among the starters against Bournemouth.

Enzo Fernandez went one better with a goal for his country earlier this week, and of course will start for the Blues on Sunday.

They will be joined in the middle of the park by Conor Gallagher, despite the best wishes of those upstairs who have looked to sell him.

Raheem Sterling will shift to the left-wing for this game, which should allow Chilwell to still overlap from full-back

This is because 21-year-old Cole Palmer will be handed his first start for his new club in his favoured right-wing role.

Despite his mixed start to life at Stamford Bridge, Nicolas Jackson will continue in the striker role.
