Manchester United’s players limbered up for their fairly daunting Champions League trip to Bayern Munich off the back of three defeats in five Premier League matches
Erik ten Hag oversaw Manchester United’s final training session before their Champions League trip to Bayern Munich, with a number of injured stars taking place in the session.
The likes of Harry Maguire, Mason Mount and Raphael Varane were all involved at Carrington, with summer signing Sofyan Amrabat pictured undergoing a personal session away from the group. All four players are not part of the 21-man squad that flew to Munich later in the day.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Kobbie Mainoo and Amad Diallo are also absent from the squad through injury, with Antony and Jadon Sancho unavailable and Donny van de Beek ineligible.
Here’s what we spotted at Carrington:
Maguire and Mount limber up
Neither Harry Maguire or Mason Mount will be in the squad for the trip to Munich but that didn’t stop them taking part in the session on Tuesday. Maguire’s issue isn’t yet known.

Martinez ignoring the haters
We know all about the club’s poor form at the moment, and the criticism it has produced. Lisandro Martinez found himself at the eye of the storm after the Brighton game when club legend Peter Schmeichel accused him of ‘trying to be a hero;’. He didn’t seem too bothered about that here though

Varane steps up recovery
Like Maguire and Mount, Raphael Varane is also missing from the squad to face Bayern, but the French defender was also seen being put through his paces. The four-time Champions League winner will be desperate to get back fit soon and help his side.
A special chat for Lindelof
With Maguire and Varane absent and all eyes on Martinez, Victor Lindelof might well need to be a cool head at the Allianz Arena. Perhaps that is why Ten Hag singled the Swede out for special attention on Tuesday
