‘Phenomenal’ Player Is Now Mauricio Pochettino’s Number One Target To Sign For Chelsea

Reports have claimed that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is now Mauricio Pochettino’s number one target to sign for Chelsea.

According to GiveMeSport, the Nigerian international is top of the list for the Blues to bring in to address their striker woes.

Osimhen has picked up exactly where he left off last season in the early stages of the Serie A campaign where they look to defend their title.

He has three goals in four games, off the back of a 26-goal league campaign in Italy on their way to winning it all.

He is set to help get his side’s Champions League campaign underway tonight, a competition he scored five goals in six games last season.

The striker came in for plenty of praise during his last campaign. He was described as ‘phenomenal’ by Walter Mazzarri.

His goalscoring ability could be exactly what the Blues need after their lacklustre start to the campaign.

Their season so far has been plagued by their inability to put the ball in the back of the net, and this was on show in full yesterday.

They were held 0-0 at Bournemouth, seeing them remain in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

A number of big chances went begging. Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer all had moments where they could have found the net.

The striker on the day, Nicolas Jackson, has started every league game so far for the Blues, and has shown glances of brilliance.

However, his inability to find the net has been on show recently, and this has proven to be a real issue for them up to now.
