Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton says his old side have issues in the goalscoring department and have for a while now.
He has also highlighted Nicolas Jackson‘s struggles, with the 22-year-old failing to find the back of the net once again in Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Bournemouth yesterday.
Speaking on It’s All Kicking Off!, Sutton said: “They’ve got issues in the goalscoring department. This has gone on for a long time now. Jackson isn’t firing, [Christopher] Nkunku, unfortunately for [Mauricio] Pochettino, has got injured.”

Pochettino’s side have scored just five goals in five Premier League games this season.
If they do not improve in that area, then it is going to be another long campaign for the Stamford Bridge faithful.
How do Chelsea solve their goalscoring issue?
Once Nkunku returns from injury, if he can adapt to the Premier League, that should help them out massively.
The Frenchman proved at RB Leipzig that he knows how to find the back of the net and was looking very promising during the Blues’ pre-season.
Going forward, though, Chelsea also need a natural No.9, one with perhaps a bit more experience than Jackson.

There has been a lot of talk about a potential move for Ivan Toney, with 90min claiming that Chelsea are considering a January swoop for the Brentford talisman.
Toney leading the line for Pochettino’s team with Jackson being his deputy could be the way to go.
If someone does not step up now, though, by the time the England international or another striker arrives at Stamford Bridge, top four will be gone and the club will already be looking ahead to next season. Will Jackson be that man? One can hope.
