The desire for injury updates led to a set of images spreading across messaging app WhatsApp like wildfire. The date in the images was Thursday September 21, the next day after they exited the Toronto FC match.
The latest official Messi injury update from Inter Miami
Inter Miami coach Tata Martino offered the most recent update on Messi’s injury, which was not very specific but indicated he would miss Sunday’s Florida Clasico.
“Basically, Leo is still dealing with his old scar tissue, and Jordi with muscle pain,” Martino said on Friday, before they missed the Orlando City game. “They are both day-to-day.”
Tata added that Messi knows himself well and is good at determining when he needs to stop in a match, in order to preserve himself in the best way for the team.
Messi, Alba and Sergio Busquets all missed Inter Miami’s 1-1 draw on Sunday with Orlando City SC.
