‘As soon as possible’: Pochettino now determined to help 23-year-old Chelsea man rediscover his best form

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is determined to help Reece James hit top form again.

Reece James has been out injured but was able to make his comeback in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal yesterday, and Mauricio Pochettino has now told Chelsea’s official club website that he is going to work hard to get his captain back to his original level.

Malo Gusto and Marc Cucurella have been filling in for the 23-year-old in his absence, so Chelsea were not left completely depleted in the right-back position.

However, with James being such an important player for the Blues, Pochettino will be delighted to have him back.

Mauricio Pochettino sets himself Reece James challenge

James has picked up a lot of injuries recently, but Pochettino is not giving up on his defender and is eager to help him stay fit and find his best form again.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official club website, the Argentine said: “He needs to be in form. It’s not the same to be available but to be available to compete for 90 minutes at this level.

“Yes, we are going to work hard to try to provide him the best tools to be in form as soon as possible.”

Mauricio Pochettino the right manager for Reece James

Pochettino is a great coach and has shown that at Chelsea this season despite the team’s results perhaps suggesting otherwise.

He got the better of Mikel Arteta yesterday, another superb coach in the English top flight. Had it not been for a poor mistake from his goalkeeper, Pochettino would have probably inspired the Blues to a win against their London rivals.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur boss really could not have done much more in the game. His tactics were practically perfect and helped Chelsea to go 2-0 in front.

He is a good manager for James, whom he appointed club captain in the summer.

The England international continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid, but hopefully he stays at Stamford Bridge, remains injury-free and can thrive under Pochettino, who clearly has a lot of trust in him.
