A 15-year-old girl is accepted to a US institution, breaking the previous record for the youngest student ever.

15-year-old Emory Pruitt has set a record as the youngest ever to gain admission into Clark Atlanta University in the United States.

Emory Pruitt is a Hendersonville, Tennessee native who graduated from her hometown high school at the age of 14  with a 3.76 grade point average. The Clark Atlanta University management announced on their social media handles that Emory is the youngest ever to enroll in the University.

”We are honored that this exceptional young woman chose Clark Atlanta University to continue her studies and we look forward to supporting her through all of her endeavors,” The dean of admissions, Lorri Saddler said.

Speaking about her achievement, remarkable accomplishment, Emory expressed gratitude towards her family member, who motivated her to pursue higher education despite her age. She added that she looks forward to embarking success on this new chapter in her academic journey.

“It actually was the dedication and my family that pushed me each day, I should thank the people that doubted me; that just made me work even harder,” she said.

Emory said she faced some challenges while in high school because of her intelligence at a young age and mostly because of her skin color. She added that she is glad to have made n history despite being a victim of racism and discrimination.

Emory’s mother, Karen Pruitt expressed her happiness about her daughter’s acceptance into Clark Atlanta University. She added that she is glad her daughter would feel safe in the university unlike in high school where she was bullied and she was forced to register in online classes.

“Words would not be able to describe how thrilled and excited she was to have come across a dream come true,” Karen Pruitt said. “I know that this was the best choice to protect her and her feelings; no one should have to defend the color of their skin,” she said.

Emory said she will be studying Criminal Justice at Clark Atlanta University and hopes to get a scholarship to enable her to complete her studies loan free in the university.
