Lingard, 30, had been training with Saudi outfit Al-Ettifaq with the hope of earning a contract.

The attacker spent a month with Steven Gerrard’s side training alongside the likes of Jordan Henderson, Moussa Dembélé and Georginio Wijnaldum.

However, a contract did not come his way as the squad is full until at least January.

In the meantime, Lingard has been training by himself.

He shared a post on Instagram showing himself keeping fit as he works with a trainer one-on-one.

It was captioned: “Working 𝑏𝑎𝑏𝑦”.

Lingard had turned his back on a potential deal with former loan club West Ham in order to pursue a Saudi deal.

He was training with the Hammers over the summer and even featured in a development game.

Last season, Lingard only managed two goals for Forest in all competitions.

His two strikes, as well as two assists, came in three Carabao Cup matches.

In the Premier League, the former Red Devils ace featured 17 times but failed to provide a goal or an assist.

He moved to the City Ground on a free transfer after his contract at Man United expired in 2022.
