Man Utd and Erik ten Hag handed fitness boost as Christian Eriksen returns to training after knee injury

Manchester United got a big help when midfielder Christian Eriksen returned to full training after healing from a knee injury.

The Danish player got hurt during Man United’s 1-0 win over Luton Town in the Premier League at Old Trafford before the last international break. The experienced midfielder was supposed to be out for a month, but it took him a little longer to get back to first-team exercise. Eriksen was seen training today with players like Donny van de Beek and Marcus Rashford, which makes it more likely that he will be in the group for this weekend’s game.

Manchester United didn’t have many midfield choices when Eriksen, Casemiro, and Mason Mount got hurt. In the recent game at Anfield against Liverpool, manager Erik ten Hag had to use Sofyan Amrabat, Kobbie Mainoo, and Scott McTominay in the middle of the field.

Eriksen’s return means that upcoming games will be more creative, which gives players more choices. Eriksen might not start right away after his injury layoff, but he is a useful player to have off the bench because he can make a lot of plays. Eriksen can still make a difference in games with his passing.

This Saturday, Manchester United plays West Ham United in a very important Premier League game. They need to win to close the six-point gap to the last Champions League spot.
