Emma Stone keen to laser off ‘poorly done’ tattoo

Emma Stone has explained why she wants to get her “poorly done” wrist tattoo lasered off and redone.

During her appearance on the latest episode of the SmartLess podcast, the La La Land star was questioned about a tattoo on her wrist featuring birds’ feet.

“My wrist, a very very very poorly done tattoo,” Emma told the podcast hosts, Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, explaining that she got the ink at “a random tattoo place” in New York when she was 21.

“Now this was supposed to be, I just want you to understand, this was based off of a drawing that was drawn with a pencil,” the star explained. “It’s bird feet, and it bleeds out more and more every single year. I got it 13 years ago and it just keeps spreading.”

The actress revealed that she has been advised against removing the tattoo as it could end up looking “worse”.

“And now I’ve gone to good tattoo artists and said, ‘Can I get this lasered off and redone?’ and they were like, ‘Your skin is so thin there that it’s probably just going to look like you’re burnt,’ like it might be worse,” she said.

Emma then explained that several of her family members have the same tattoo.

“My mom, my dad, my brother, I mean the story behind it is so special, but it was like theirs all look great, by the way, because they all went to better tattoo people and I’m the one who has to cover it up for work every day and it’s like raised up,” the Cruella star told the hosts.

Emma and her family got the tattoo, which was designed by Paul McCartney, in honour of her mum beating breast cancer and their favourite song, The Beatles’ Blackbird.
