The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was a bit of a rebel in his younger days.
atrick Mahomes has reached the pinnacle of American football and American sports. Arguably the best player in any sport at the moment, Mahomes is coming off of his third Super Bowl triumph having once again been the difference maker in the NFL Playoffs.
In order to get to where he is, Mahomes had to start from a relatively low place. He was a three-star recruit out of high school and didn’t initially start at Texas Tech. During those years, Mahomes wasn’t exactly the most civil and unproblematic person out there.
Randi Mahomes shares early troubles with Patrick
In a recent interview, Randi Mahomes revealed that her son clashed with her quite a bit in that time.
In college, Patrick and I used to fight, not fight, but I was the mom who thought when he came in, he needed to see me. Of course, I’m like, I love my kids, but they don’t want to hang out with their parents. He would be like, ‘I’m glad I was in your house.’ I’m like, ‘You slept for three hours and then you left.’ It was like you slept. And so, we got to a point where I said if you’re at church on Sunday, then we won’t argue.
Randi then commented on some of the traits the two share: “He’s stub𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 sometimes, like me.”
It definitely seems like a lot of those family problems are in the past now. Patrick and his mother appear to be in good place, personally. Patrick has his own family with Brittany, but he tends to make plenty of time for the other family members.
