Rick Ross’ recent trip to Canada ended in a brawl after the rapper openly supported Kendrick Lamar in Drake’s home country.

The “Hustlin'” rapper, 48, was in Vancouver on Sunday, June 30, to perform at the Ignite Festival, but at the end of his set, Ross appeared to take an open jab at Drake, whom he’s been publicly beefing with since their years-long on-again, off-again feud reignited earlier this year.

To close his performance, Ross played Lamar’s Drake-aimed diss track “Not Like Us,” which debuted in the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since become largely regarded as the winning track in the beef between the two rappers.

However, some festivalgoers didn’t seem to take kindly to Ross’ decision to play the song. After exiting the stage with his crew, footage shared on Instagram in a collaborative post by users 6ixaktv and luckysbodega shows Ross engaging in an argument with several attendees, which quickly became physical when one appeared to throw a punch that struck Ross in the face.

Multiple videos from different angles of the incident indicate that the fight may have continued for several minutes before dissipating.

A rep for Ross did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Following the incident, TMZ published a statement from the rapper describing Vancouver as a “beautiful city” that he “can’t wait to go back” to in the future, reportedly adding that none of his team members were seriously injured.

Ross echoed that sentiment in a since-expired Instagram Story post where he shared an image of himself posing in a Dolce & Gabbana tracksuit on the tarmac outside of his private jet alongside the caption, “Vancouver it was fun, till next time ✨.”

The feud between Ross and Drake has gone hot and cold over the years, but came to the forefront once again in April when Drake seemingly dissed Ross on the leaked track “Push Ups,” rapping “Every song that made it on the chart, he got from Drizzy.”

Within hours, Ross responded to Drake with his own diss track — “Champagne Moments” — in which he accuses the rapper of having his music written by “ghostwriters,” addresses him as a “white boy” and says that Lil Wayne, who mentored Ross in the early days of his career, “gave you the juice.”

Furthermore, he insinuated that Drake has had plastic surgery on his nose and claimed that he unfollowed the Canadian rapper on Instagram because “you sent the motherf—ing cease-and-desist to French Montana.”

The duo’s beef continued on social media, with Ross writing on X (formerly Twitter): “If we keeping it gangster, when you see me you check me,” among other disses.

Likewise, Drake uploaded an apparent text exchange with his mother, Sandi Graham, in which the two joke about the alleged nose job, per Billboard.

On May 3, Drake released the song “Family Matters,” in which he throws another jab at Ross, claiming the latter is using Ozempic by rapping, “Ozempic got a side effect of jealousy.”
