The đ€đ©đȘđđ„hood of millionaire – artist DJ Khaled was very difficult. But now he is a millionaire earning $27 million per year.
DJ Khaled is one of the highest-paid hip-hop artists in the world: In 2018, he earned $27 million, according to Forbes.
The Palestinian-American music mogul, whose real name is Khaled Mohamed Khaled, once knew nothing about the afterlife of wealth. His parents, Palenstinian immigrants, came to New Orleans in their 20s with just $20.
âThey work every day, seven days a week, 24 hours a day,â Khaled told Miami New Times in 2016. âIf I want to hang out with my grandparents, I have to hang out in a hustle.â

His family moved from New Orleans to Orlando, Florida, where Khaled began DJing at age 13. When he was 16 years old, his parents got into financial trouble and lost everything. They moved back to New Orleans to live with family, but Khaled stayed in Florida to try to launch his music career.
He worked as a DJ at clubs and earned $100 a week, barely enough to make ends meet.
âI was just a kid and I was kicked out about 10 times,â DJ Khaled wrote in the 2016 book.
âThere were times when I used to stay in hotels, because I couldn’t afford an apartment,â DJ Khaled told Luc Belaire CEO Brett Berish in an episode of Belaire’s Self-Tastes Better video series. âThere were nights when I had to sleep in the car,â DJ Khaled added.
Khaled worked hard to land more DJ gigs and gradually, his career took off. âI’m very good at music,â he told Belaire. I got better and started making $1,000 a week. From there, life got better and better, to the point where I was blessed enough to buy my first home.â
It was his first major purchase. He didn’t buy it on a whim – he planned it even when he had a lot of money.
Today, self-made millionaires can afford more than a $30,000 payout. In 2018, he sold his four-story estate in Miami for nearly $8 million.
