Emma Stone has revealed the iconic television show she once tried out for but didn’t get.
The now two-time Oscar-winner, 35, revealed on The Tonight Show on Thursday: ‘When I was auditioning in L.A. when I was… I think I was 15 at this time … I got a couple callbacks for Friday Night Lights for Coach Taylor’s daughter
‘I was totally devastated that it didn’t work out.’
As for someone who did make his way to Dillon, Texas – Emma’s Kinds of Kindness costar Jesse Plemons, who played Landry Clarke on the NBC drama.
The Poor Things star added that ‘it would have been so crazy’ if she had worked with Jesse at that time.
‘But then we met 20 years later on this,’ Emma continued. ‘And he’s going to be in the next movie, too – spoiler alert.’

Despite not landing the role of Coach Eric Taylor’s daughter, played by Aimee Teegarden, Emma’s career has turned out exceptionally.
In fact, she recently hit a new milestone: having hosted Saturday Night Live five times.
‘Such a diehard superfan,’ Emma gushed to Jimmy Fallon. ‘It was the greatest experience. I truly think it was like the greatest experience of my life.’
‘Other than having my 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 or whatever,’ she teased.
SNL gave Emma a jacket to mark the occasion – but with one catch.
‘I don’t want to blow up their spot,’ the Cruella actress confessed, ‘because again it’s my favorite place. But they don’t want you to keep the jacket! It’s a thing where they are like, “You know you’re not keeping the jacket, you’re just wearing it for the monologue.”‘
‘I was like, “No. I will be taking it with me,” Emma continued. ‘”I’ll be wearing it to the after party. I will be taking it home.”‘
And the La La Land star wasn’t joking. ‘I did take it home,’ she admitted. ‘And now it’s in my closet! But they also know where to find me.’
As for something else Emma recently took home? Her second Oscar.
The movie star won the award for Best Actress for her role in Poor Things and took a moment to reflect on her wardrobe malfunction during Hollywood’s biggest night.
‘You said you split your dress,’ Jimmy recalled from Emma’s acceptance speech. ‘You really did?’
‘I really did,’ she replied before reminiscing on how the split occurred. ‘There was a bathroom break at one point. Listen, I made it a much bigger drama, as per usual, than it actually was, but I don’t know. Something happened, I went to the bathroom- it definitely happened.’

The star recently took home her second Best Actress Oscar for Poor Things
As for when the restroom break was taken? As Emma put it, ‘I’ve said this too many times. I’m sorry, but during I’m Just Ken.’
The Easy A alum elaborated, detailing that in fact she left during Ryan Gosling’s performance of his hit song I’m Just Ken from the Barbie movie.
And it seems the Kenergy just took over the Hollywood starlet.
Jimmy teased, ‘Ryan Gosling did it to you,’ to which Emma quipped, ‘For sure. 100 percent. I was so excited. I was dancing so much and the dress was kind of tight. And a woman, right before the category came up, tapped me on the shoulder and was like, “Hey, your dress is broken.”‘
The actress reflected on her dress splitting at the Oscars: ‘I made it a much bigger drama, as per usual, than it actually was, but I don’t know. Something happened, I went to the bathroom- it definitely happened’
So, naturally, learning this information moments before her big win led Emma to announce the faux pas on stage.
‘So I just learned this and I was like, “Oh, damn.” And then it went into the category, and that’s the only thing I can think about,’ she explained. ‘Dress ripped, a– out. But it wasn’t! Kept it real classy.’
But all jokes aside, Jimmy gave credit where credit is due, mentioning that Emma had the motivation to succeed from an early age.
‘I love your drive,’ the 49-year-old recalled, ‘ever since you were a kid. You had a plan. I remember you telling me you had a PowerPoint presentation to say your trajectory or how you could get to L.A. and what you’re going to do.’
Jimmy added, ‘I thought it was the best thing ever.’
The comedian then held up an adorable headshot from when Emma ‘first started’ acting at around 12.
As for what she was like at that age?
‘Remember how my favorite thing is SNL?’ Emma joked. ‘Imagine that. I was like a ham sandwich. Really just going for it!’
