Tiger Woods to appear at press conference at Royal Troon days ahead of The Open Championship 2024

Tiger Woods is set to appear at the press conference for the 2024 Open Championship, ahead of the commencement of the major. The final major of the year is just around the corner, scheduled to take place next week at Royal Troon. Ahead of the competition, there will be a press conference on July 16.

Golf journalist Jack Milko recently shared the schedule for the press conference, which includes the legendary golfer’s name. The press conference will begin on Monday, July 15, with defending champion Brian Harman addressing the media at 14:00 BST, followed by Ludvig Aberg and Robert MacIntyre.

On the second day, 16 July, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Tiger Woods, Scottie Scheffler, and Xander Schauffele will speak with the media. Woods will make an appearance at 11:00 BST.

With the press conference schedule released, fans can expect the return of Woods at the upcoming major. It will be the first time Woods returns to play at the British Open since 2022, as he did not play last year.

Woods has won The Open Championship three times in his career and will be looking to add another trophy next week.

A look into Tiger Woods’ performance at The Open Championship over the years

Tiger Woods has shone at the Open Championship over the years. He made his debut at the tournament in 1995 as an amateur and performed well, finishing T68.

In his career, Woods has played in The Open Championship 22 times and made the cut in 18, with 10 top-10 finishes at the major. The last time The Open Championship was held at Royal Troon was in 2016, but Woods did not participate in that year’s event. However, he has played at Royal Troon in the past, tying for ninth place in 2004.

In 2024, Tiger Woods has played in three majors but he only made the cut at the Masters.

Tiger Woods has won 15 major championships in his career, the second-highest in the history of the game, only behind Jack Nicklaus who won 18. He has won all four majors at least three times each.

The American golfer holds an impressive record at the majors and has surprised fans with remarkable performances even while struggling with injuries. He won the 2008 US Open while dealing with an injury. He has done it before, and his fans can be expected to be waiting for him to bounce back again.
