Zahara – 19 years old, daughter of star Angelina Jolie – attracted attention with a modern dance performance at the back-to-school festival.
On TikTok of a Spelman College student, the video of Zahara dancing with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA) attracted nearly 500,000 views after three days of posting. Jolie’s daughter was second in line, wearing a tank top and denim shorts with sneakers.
According to Hello Magazine, Zahara’s performance was part of the Welcome Back Jam festival last week. After the video was posted, many accounts said that the daughter of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” was enjoying her college life, happy to see her being herself. “Zahara is having the best time of her life,” one person commented.
Zahara became a freshman at Spelman College in August 2022, joining AKA – the first African-American sorority in history, founded in 1908. When she enrolled, Angelina Jolie told the school representative that she was very excited to be the mother of a Spelman student, unable to hold back her tears on the day her 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 enrolled.

Brad Pitt is also proud of Zahara, praising his daughter’s intelligence in an interview with Vanity Fair in August 2022. “She will go further when she goes to college. This is a beautiful period for her to find her own path and pursue her interests. Time flies so fast. They grow up so fast. It makes me cry when I think about it,” the actor added.
In November 2023, she introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie instead of keeping the Jolie-Pitt surname at an AKA event. Zahara is the first 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 to publicly change her surname since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt divorced.
The star adopted Zahara in 2005, when she was only six months old, during a trip to Ethiopia as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. She was an orphan abandoned by her parents, both of whom were HIV positive.
Zahara often returns to Africa with her mother to visit her homeland to remember her roots. She is interested in jewelry design and has her own line of products. Zahara is also encouraged by her mother to participate in humanitarian and charity work.
