Manny Pacquiao is one of the greatest fighters to ever lace up the gloves.
Known as ‘PacMan’ for the way he ate up so many opponents, the legendary Filipino’s career spanned over two decades and was a journey that took him from poverty to becoming one of the most celebrated athletes in boxing history.
He is an eight-division world champion, a feat unmatched in the sport’s history, and held titles across different weight classes from flyweight to super welterweight.
Known for his speed, power, and relentless fighting style, Pacquiao faced and defeated some of boxing’s biggest names including Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto.
Julio Cesar Chavez is a fellow boxing legend who had more than 100 fights and won multiple world titles across three divisions and when asked by PremierLive TV, he said he would have got the better of Pacquaio in the ring.
“If Barrera and Morales defeated him, I think I would have with all due respect. He is no better than me with all due respect.
As I told you at 135lbs, 140lbs, I definitely had the style to beat Mayweather and Pacquiao because I was a strong fighter, a fighter that could take many hits, a fighter that harassed you all the time. A fighter who beat you down high up, you know what I mean, and I definitely think I would have beaten him.”
Pacquaio hasn’t fought since a loss against Cuban Yordenis Ugás in 2021, but has recently been linked with a return to the ring.
