Mike Tyson ‘is not competition, will get beat up’ at 58 – If you use these WBN quotes, please link back to the source: https://www.worldboxingnews.net/2024/08/29/mike-tyson-not-competition-will-get-beat-up-58/

TrillerShare on FacebookShare on X (Twitter)Share on PinterestShare on LinkedInShare on RedditShare on WhatsAppShare on EmailBoxing legend Mike Tyson will get beat up by his YouTuber opponent on November 15 after accepting a comeback offer at 58.

That’s the view of UFC commentator Michael Bisping, who says he would never have accepted a fight against anyone at Tyson’s age. Jake Paul made the offer to Tyson, and at $20 million, it proved impossible to reject.

Paul will take home $40 million for facing the youngest-ever heavyweight champion. However, Tyson will be nowhere near the force he once was in the 1980s. Even in the 1990s, when Tyson made a comeback, Paul would probably have been able to cause him problems. Therefore, fighting Tyson in 2024 is sickening to Bisping.

Discussing the Netflix event on his YouTube Channel, Bisping raged, “You are a joke [Jake Paul]. You are a disgrace to the combat world. You’re an imposter. You’re a wannabe, and you’re a fake.

“Challenge yourself, you pathetic man, you pathetic individual. Fighting is about challenging yourself. Granted, it’s business. [He’s] Killing it in that regard. But don’t give me this fighter bull***. That’s what gets on my nerves.”

Bisping added, “I’m 45. When I was 25, I was a different person. I was a maniac. I was out of control, and I would have fought anybody. And if I was Jake Paul right now, at 26 years old, and you said to me, ‘We’re going to give you someone that’s 58 years old,’ I’d have been like, ‘Oh my god. Are you going to pay me to do this? You’re going to pay me $40 million, whatever the price tag is, to go out there and beat up a guy like that?

“Oh my god.’ I would have said, ‘Stick it up your a**. Give me someone who is my age.’ Because that is not competition, which is what a true fighter would say and should say.”

Many fans echo those words, aware of just how much danger Mike Tyson will be if Paul plans to go full pelt. Hopefully, the detractors who say the fight is mainly staged will be correct, and Tyson won’t be able to be knocked out badly.

There was no such help for his rival Evander Holyfield in 2021 when ‘The Real Deal’ returned against Vitor Belfort [another fight Bisping was against] at the same age. Holyfield got wiped out in 109 seconds and was never seen in a ring again.

If the same happens to Tyson in Texas, Paul can expect more than just boos at his next public appearance. – If you use these WBN quotes, please link back to the source: https://www.worldboxingnews.net/2024/08/29/mike-tyson-not-competition-will-get-beat-up-58/
