Model Lottie Moss, sister of supermodel Kate Moss, said she was hospitalized after two weeks of taking Ozempic to lose weight.
The British model said that a few months ago she tried Ozempic, a diabetes medication used by many celebrities to lose weight, because she was unhappy with her figure. Lottie explained that she was taking the drug from a friend who got it from a doctor. When she started taking the injections, Lottie weighed 60kg and after less than two weeks she was down to 53kg
However, Lottie later discovered that she had injected nearly double the recommended dose for someone her weight. The overdose left her dehydrated and exhausted. Lottie was taken to the emergency room by a friend after being bedridden for two days.
“As soon as I got into the room and was examined by a nurse, I had a seizure. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in my life. My face was frozen, my hands were clenched and I couldn’t move them and they felt like they were going to break. It was horrible,” she confessed on the Dream On podcast, which aired on September 12.
After surviving her ordeal, Lottie vowed never to take Ozempic again and hopes her story can serve as a lesson to others. “It was the worst decision I’ve ever made, so I want to warn people: please, if you’re thinking about losing weight that way, don’t do it. It’s not worth it,” she explained. “This medication is for diabetes, not for weight loss.”
Lottie also criticised the return of the glorification of thinness among young people, which has led many to do everything they can to lose weight. The model said she now loves herself more and is happy with her weight.
Lottie Moss was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 in 1998, the daughter of Peter Moss – Kate Moss’s father – and his second wife Inger Solnordal. She attracted attention with her beautiful appearance when she was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Kate Moss and singer Jamie Hince in 2011. At the age of 14, Lottie Moss signed a modeling contract with Storm Management. Thanks to her beautiful figure and her sister’s reputation, Lottie had a promising career in England. However, a few years later, while working as a fashion model, Lottie suddenly dropped out, moved to the US, worked as a photo model and sold 𝓈ℯ𝓍y photos online to make money.
In a TikTok video posted in January, Lottie Moss revealed that she had struggled with depression and anxiety for years after becoming a teen model. The pressures and temptations of the entertainment industry also led to her abusing alcohol and drugs. The 9X model had to go to rehab in 2022.
