Actor Orlando Bloom said he loved Katy Perry, calling her his ‘inspirational partner’, on the MTV Video Music Awards stage on September 11.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star paid tribute to Katy Perry by her real name in front of thousands of spectators and artists in the UBS Arena hall, New York: “You love her as Katy Perry. I love her as Katheryn Hudson. You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and a unique sense of humor to every song she writes, every music video she creates. I know her as a mother, a partner who brings love, joy, inspiration to our family.”
After talking about Katy Perry’s powerful and inspiring music that has reached generations of audiences around the world, Orlando addressed her personally: “Congratulations on this honor, my love. I am so proud of you. And let me introduce to you, Katheryn Hudson, the 2024 MTV Video Vanguard pioneer.”
Orlando received enthusiastic applause after introducing his talented partner. Immediately after, Katy Perry took the stage to perform a series of hits in her career such as Firework , ET , I Kissed A Girl … and the upcoming song I’m His, He’s Min . Orlando sat below cheering and nervously watching the 39-year-old fiancee’s performance of swinging and fiery choreography.
At the end of her 10-minute performance, Katy Perry ran over to kiss Orlando Bloom passionately. She received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award – considered MTV’s Lifetime Achievement Award – from Orlando. During her speech, Katy thanked her husband and 4-year-old daughter Daisy. “Thank you Orlando for helping me calm down, celebrate and do the dishes,” Katy said, referring to her recent viral interview praising her fiancé for always helping with housework .
Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have been together since 2016 and have a daughter, Daisy. The couple got engaged in March 2019 and currently live together in California. They always attend events and support each other’s work.
